Dear Sirs,
In many ways the leader’s political debates have been interesting and informative, to a point, but what I do object to is that you could conclude that there are only three political parties standing in this General Election. This is grossly unfair to all the other parties who get so little airtime to argue their point. The sole interest of the media is centered and concentrated on the largest three parties. As there seems so little difference between these three how refreshing it would be to get other views and ideas apart from these tired front runners. The smaller parties will always remain in this situation due to the lack of publicity they receive, which in turn precludes them from getting the financial backing which the other parties have. This is entirely the fault of the media for not being more even handed. The unfairness of their coverage makes my blood boil for all the dedicated workers who toil for no reward but a core belief in their party’s principals and policies.
Please explain to me the reason for your negativity in not portraying a more rounded debate of this coverage which I am sure the general public deserve and need to be informed of what other ideas and opinions are on the table for the voting public. This biased coverage of our democratic system is nothing less than a disgrace.

Three weeks ago, at the start of this airlessly make-believe election campaign, I predicted that it would unfold under four giant shadows – issues which would barely be mentioned because the positions on them of the three parties making up our “political class” are virtually identical. So it has turned out.
First, under the heading “Don’t tell the voters we face bankruptcy”, I discussed the barely credible scale of our government over-spending. Within four years – when our National Debt, on the Government’s own admission, will be £1.4 trillion – it will cost every household £3,000 a year on average, or £60 a week, just to pay the interest on that debt….

More important words:
The only memorable feature of that dismal TV charade by the three party leaders on Thursday was that it included under “foreign policy” the subject of Europe. This perpetuated the pretence by the main parties that membership of the European Union is somehow just another aspect of foreign affairs, when, of course, the EU is in important respects the true government of this country
Peter Hitchens on how not to vote…
This time, I think and hope that what I say might actually have some effect on an unusually close Election. And it is this. Please do not vote Tory. It will have the opposite result to the one you intend.
